With two new coordinators, an entirely new defensive scheme and at least a bit of concern that off the field hype and distractions had an impact on our readiness last September I expect we can see the curtain closed on the spring and summer practice schedule going into the 2020 season. Dino has an admitted paranoia about these things and the developments cited above will certainly stoke them. Expect even more practice sessions to be closed to the media and would not be surprised if there is no spring game at all.

I get it...but that does put a little of a damper on the current wave of excitement and renewed optimism. Still, the end product is all that really matters. I don't need to watch the cake bake, but I sure hope it tastes good when it's done!

I sadly agree. Also, the Dome will not even be available for a spring game this spring. Even if they want to play one, it will have to be played elsewhere.

I would guess that given that the lacrosse team is going to play home games at CNS this spring, any spring game will also be played there.

The Aztec 3-3-5 isn’t some wild, new coaching innovation. I think everyone knows about it. It isn’t like ours scheme on offense is changing either, and we don’t even have a QB controversy to keep under wraps.

It could happen. Miami and Louisville didn’t have spring games last spring.

But John Wildhack is on record saying the ACC network intends to cover all ACC spring games this year. It is apparently going to be a mandatory thing. Ultimately, that might drive a spring game to happen. I hope so.

I still hope there is a spring game

Syracuse is silly if they don't televise the spring game. They have a fanbase it that wants it, and the playbook is so vanilla that it doesn't give anything away anyway.

How can it possibly get any worse? The same song over and over again in spring. The same drills in the fall. I only look at the videos because I’m starved for something, anything.

5000 so remove all the kids/wives and other drag alongs.. and I dont that even then whats left is all that vested and payin attention

You got any more of those ladder drill videos?

Could be a trade off between Dino/wildhack that had to happen here. Dino got his coaches. I imagine wildhack has a keen interest in undoing a lot of the mess from last season and rebuilding some of the momentum. That comes from not being completely closed off. Tickets aren’t going to renew/sell themselves this year.

I hope they have a spring “game” my family and friends family really enjoy coming up for them.
Its nice to get the kids more involved with the players. My son doesn’t like at sports at all by has a great time at these, he loves meeting Mo twice and Rex.
Plus I got to see the little try to take a nap on the dome turf lol.
Sure they are just glorified practices but they make for great family trips for us and of course helps to build future Cuse fans :)

Didn't even consider the fact that the Dome will be unavailable. Another opportunity to rationalize not having one. That might even trump an ACC "mandate." I imagine there would be a cost to using CN-S or any other off campus venue. Suppose they could use the soccer stadium. Early April weather would be a roll of the dice for an outdoor event. And the team will not be practicing at all outdoors in the spring. Talking myself into this even more strongly. Let's see what we can find out.

Do we think there's any chance the new coordinators have a PC to generate some buzz?

Spring game should be played at the soccer field like in the past its easily packed, a cool little venue and your outside in the sun complete win and enjoyed it

I don't believe the spring game has been played at the soccer field in the past (at least not the recent past). The fan appreciation day or whatever they call it during August training camp has been held over there.

it would not surprise me if we had no game but did have some event for the kids.
