One of you said something like this earlier today, and I agree whole heartedly: "I haven't been happy after a loss since Carmelo Anthony's first game."
After finding out Freeman was out "hopefully not for the year" I was expecting a 20 point loss, not merely because we would be missing one of our best players, but because of the emotional let down. The team responded extremely well, and went out and beat one of the best teams in the country from the floor. But, of course, they already knew Freeman would be out, and had time to prepare mentally. It was only a shock for the average fan. But the team came out and beat Houston on a neutral court. (kind of)
Unfortunately, free throws count too... So we won the floor game by 3, and lost the game by 4. And we missed 5 front ends of a one and one?
If we shot our bad season average, we win by 1. In spite of bad three point shooting.
We also shot poorly from three, it might just be who we are. We get a lot of good open threes, and just miss. Betsey was a revelation, but we can't expect to win against top teams with Kingz, Anthony and George going 3 for 19 from three.
If they shot their bad season average, we win by 2. In spite of bad free throw shooting.
My biggest takeaway was we beat a consensus top5 team without one of our best players.
I haven't been happy after a loss in more than two decades, but here I am.
