I think most of the pods have a separate Session 1 and Session 2 for the afternoon and evening games on Days 1 and 2 (one set of tix for OSU/Day, SU/WM and another set for UConn/Joes, Nova/Milw in Buffalo for example). How does it work with the west coast venues? Out in San Diego, Ok State and Gonzaga are the second game of the day, with the 3rd game VCU/SFA to follow 30 minutes later. Do they not clear out the venue for the second 'session'? Is there a second session there? Same thing with Spokane yesterday.

I've wondered how that gets handled.

Works the same at every site.
With the newish TV time setup and longer games in general, it leads to even less time between sessions.
Also leads to a lot of session 2 ticket holders being forced to wait outside. Everyone needs to leave the building regardless.
Kind of amazing though how fast they 'clean' the seating bowl and that you don't hear more about people hiding in bathrooms, etc. to 'sneak' into the late session without a ticket.

Jim Nantz just spoke to this during the EKU-KU game.
5:22 to go and the next game starts in 40 minutes - in a different ticketed session.
Props to all of the arena workers and TV crews who make this all happen.
They aren't getting switched out.

Damn, Jim Nantz just said that. Said the Wichita game is scheduled to tip 40 minutes from now (still 5 mins left in KU game) and they have to get 20,000 out still. What a mess.

Of note too - is there is no alcohol at all inside these venues.
So you certainly have a fair percentage of fans holding tickets to both sessions who desire to see most/all of the games, but were also planning on a mid-session beer somewhere near the arena (if such a place exists.. it doesn't at San Diego, San Antonio, Raleigh today)
Those people have decisions to make.

Last year in Philly was a mess. Left the first session - and the few venues in proximity to the arenas were absolutely crushed... between people leaving the first session and people arriving for the second session.
