In other words, a "successful failure"... - that missed holding call on the USC punt return was huge. Changed the game. Now, i haven't seen a replay of the play but live it really looked like right at the edge a Syracuse player was being grabbed. The block in the back call on the kick return following the subsequent USC score only added to the frustration - I am not going to kill him too much as I felt his overall gameplan was good, but really didn't like Marrone's decision to punt on 4th and 2 down 12 with 10 min and change to go. The subsequent return really ended the game. - as a NJ resident, loved being able to see my team up close. But truth be told, I am not in favor of the NJ experiment going forward. SU did a nice job branding the stadium, but nearly half of the 40k there were red and gold. Ths team deserves to have 40k orange backers at high profile home games. I was surrounded by USC fans, and eventually moved because they were annoying me (although not being or anything) And the only place the are getting that is in the Dome. That said, I understand the financial benefits so I don't know... - tornado delay. Awesome. First time for everything. - I really appreciate the hospitality of the Fine Mess folks. It was nice to get the chance to meet some of you like TexanMark, cuseregular, Fairfax, Xtreme, etc...hope to get the chance to tailgate with you all again sometime. Overall, while I am truly sick of "moral victories" when it comes to this program, I really can't complain too much here. We were within a score of the number 1/2 team in the nation at a neutral site in the 4th quarter. Both units had moments where the were the better team on the field. And if we play this game in Big East play...we will win this conference.
