I love JB, and I'm not giving up on this season because when we are on we are really tough to beat, but it really is tough to expect the same 5 guys to carry us through these tough games. Cooney played really well in the 1st half, we went on that run, then he missed a shot at the elbow that he probably shouldn't have taken, and he's out for the game.
I don't think Trevor is a major contributor quite yet, but there's no reason why he can't play 5 minutes a half just to spell BT and MCW a bit. These Big East games are pretty physical and our guys aren't that built other than Brandon. They have to be beaten up by the end of games pretty badly.
At one point the foul discrepancy, before we started fouling, was 15-8 for the game. That's ridiculous.
I genuinely like BT's game and am happy with his career here. I have no issue with his misses. The one criticism I have is that he makes horrible decisions at inopportune times. The 3 early in the shot clock with no one in position to rebound. That pass to no one. I bet more of us that care to admit thought we lost the second he made that pass.
This is a pretty critical time. They have a ton of talent and a lot of pieces that could theoretically make a very good to potentially great basketball team. They really have to beat Louisville and they obviously can, but our players need to play better and JB needs to coach better.
