As we battle for higher attendance, it becomes obvious that not only does a solid opponent attract more Cuse casuals, but they tend to bring more of their own fans. Rank the ACC teams by how well their fanbase travels from what you’ve seen.

From what I’ve seen in my time as a season ticket holder:

Clemson
Fsu
Bc
Vtech
Nc state
Pitt
Louisville
Unc
Wake

Memory’s fuzzy though and I blame the foams.

I wasn’t there a couple years ago, but BC isn’t in the same stratosphere as VT for traveling fans. I think VT is #2 in the league to Clemson.

Your top 2 are correct. I don't remember BC bring very many folks and I haven't seen us play the other teams at home. Wake and UNC don't have good turnouts at their own stadiums though. I doubt many of them are making trips to upstate NY.

I dont know why i seem to remember a lot of bc fans. The whole memory is painful.

I don't recall many BC fans at the Dome last year. Clemson was an impressive turnout the first year in the ACC when we played them at home. Not sure what they looked like last year

clemson/vt travel
fsu has some local fans that add to the group
pitt/bc up and down depending on how good the team is, but Pitt travels better

Lou when they are really good will travel

unc/nc st a few show up maybe 2-300 but some local UNC fans

wake only if they are on the cusp of greatness

I hardly remember wake bringing anything

BC below Wake? Didnt expect to see that. Also didnt expect to see UNC so high

Could be wrong, but I thought UNC had a pretty decent contingent, plus a lot of scattered carolina blue throoughout other sections.

BC and Wake coud probably flip. I just don't recall ever seeing that many BC fans.

My opinion:

Clemson
VT
FSU
UNC
BC

UNC brought a couple hundred fans. That is better than more ACC teams. Similar to BC.

I don't think Pitt has brought more an a handful of fans for a long time. UL brings a handful. Wake brings a handful. More than Pitt or UL. Miami has brought a few people in the past,as did Duke. I think Duke and Wake are a little above the others.

UVa and GT get incompletes. While I suspect they will not travel at all, I don't believe we have played them yet at the Dome.

We think NC State brings much saturday? They’re still in the conversation for the Atlantic and the domes a unique destination (who knows if nc state feels this way).

For probably 20 years or so I have done a road game or two per year and I will say we ALWAYS have a good number of fans on the road. Now that I live it the Midwest we do it as a family trip. I wonder where we sit within the conference, so not just who comes to the dome but travels everywhere. I should put a list of road games I have been to...Im guessing I have been to 20-25 different stadiums to watch Cuse on the road. Nowhere near TexanMark but we have a ton of fun on the road!

I'm not sure that SU travels well, strictly speaking. But we turn out well in areas that have high concentrations of CNY transplants and SU alums.

SU seems to have big contingents when we play BC, UNC, NC State, Wake, Miami, GaTech. But not so much when we play FSU, Clemson, VaTech, Pitt.

We haven't played at VT in 15 years. I would assume a better turnout the next time we play there. We'll find out in 2021

BC has bigger problems... Starting with that glorified high school field they call a stadium and the crap game day experience.

If it wasn't for being there for the "All shall kneel before Diamond Ferri" greatest show on turf, I'd absolutely hate that place.

I have been to SU games played at FSU, Clemson and Pitt. You can add Louisville to the bad travel list and Virginia to the good travel list. Maryland too if you count bankrupt traitors.

There can be no question that we travel far better to all of those venues that the vast majority of ACC schools travel to Syracuse. We had at least 500, probably 1000 at all three locations when I was there. UL was probably only 500.

I grant you the numbers aren't great and we definitely draw a lot better at the first venues named, but I think we travel better than most ACC conference schools. Opposing fans have praised our ability to bring fans to every venue I have gone to.

Louisville fans will travel fairly well as long as it's not a game in Syracuse. They are allergic.

"Traveling fans" is the key word here. As OrangeDW pointed out elsewhere, many of the UNC "fans" may really be part of the Upstate chinstrap beard brigade.

I went to the UMD game in 2013 in College Park and I swear the upper bowl was almost entirely SU fans. If you're close to a major metro area on the East Coast, SU fans will show up.

Got to give you a "like" for this part alone.

Looking forward to next years game for just this reason. One of the best road turnouts for our fans I've seen.

I was in the lower bowl in the SU section and it was large. And loud.

Looking forward to that game next year. It will be warmer, that much I know.
