The following years are eligible (year being tourney year):
2009- 3 seed- Sweet 16
2010- 1 seed- Sweet 16 (and an unfortunately timed knee injury)
2011- 3 seed- 2nd round (and an unfortunately placed ref)
2012- 1 seed- Elite 8 (and an unfortunately lackadaisical center)
2013- 4 seed- FF
2014- TBD

1. 2014
2. 2012
3. 2010
4. 2013
5. 2009
6. 2011

I'm projecting forward for the 2014 team. I think this team is special.

Its hard to have last years squad 4th but no question with full squads 1o and 12 do much better. Really great stretch and if Donte stayed, AO didn't get hurt and Fab went to class who knows how much better it could have been. Its hard to really quantify how great a run we are on and look to continue.

Dude, that's the "NEW" Golden Era.

For a true Golden Era Ranking, I'd go with these:

1. 1989
2. 1986
3. 1987
4. 1991
5. 1990

1. 2010
2. 2012
3. 2011
4. 2013

2014: ? Too soon to tell. Through 13, better than 2011 and 2013; worse than the even years. And there's some room for growth. Could be the best of the bunch, though the offense isn't there yet.

Earlier:

1. 1989
2. 1986 (so underrated; awesome team when Raf wasn't hurt)
3. 1987
4. 1988
5. 1991

1st Golden Era:
1) 1979-80
2) 1978-79
3) 1976-77
4) 1974-75
5) 1977-78
6) 1975-76

2nd Golden Era:
1) 1988-89
2) 1986-87
3) 1985-86
4) 1990-91
5) 1989-90
6) 1987-88

Third Golden Era:
1) 2009-10
2) 2011-12
3) 2013-14
4) 2012-13
5) 2008-09
6) 2010-11
But watch out for 2014-15!

We were 18-0 in 2011, then proceeded to go 2-6.
We were 18-1 last year, just beat the #1 team in the nation on the road, then went on a frustrating 5-7 run.

I am just going to wait a little bit longer on this team, although I feel very positive about it.

cant really argue the era's breakdown and the ranks within.

the fact that the only National Championship which the school earned on the court, is not attached to an era...jumps of the page.

won it by having the best player in the country in Orange, now lets win 1 by having the best TEAM in the country in Orange.

That is interesting. Maybe we can consider that a pre-golden era since it led to this recent golden era.
