I don't exactly consider myself one of the "kiddies", as I'm approaching 40, but I am also not an old-timer.  However, I have only recently started actively participating here after years of lurking.  I don't like to see these terms used as some sort of segregation, like we don't matter if we haven't been posting for years or weren't around in the "good ole days".  I don't have the insider information that many have, but I try to contribute when possible.
 
Personally, I come to this board because of the vast amount of insight and knowledge that I gain from all the great posters who have better sources and connections than I do, such as Joyce, Jake, Steve, Dan, and so many others.  What would this board be if they all decided to leave and take all their knowledge with them, just as Longtimefan has, because of a societal change?
 
I understand both sides of the debate, but as someone who comes here to take in as much Syracuse knowledge, conversation, and comeraderie as possible, it pains me to see the people most qualified to provide that information being scared away by a change in environment.
 
So, I guess this is my plea:
 
If you're one of those "old-timers" who has that vast wealth of knowledge and insight into Syracuse athletics, please don't silently take that gift with you.  If you have taken that gift with you, please consider coming back.  Please do your best to find a way to accept the changes when you can, and ignore the ones you have to.  If you don't share all that wonderful stuff with us, how will it ever be able to be carried on?  I realize it isn't the same place it was back in the AOL days, but it can still be a great place for Syracuse athletics to spread and thrive.
