He's an excellent passer, too. Might not be the quickest afoot, but he had quick hands at the top of the zone.

He has decent size, understanding of the game and a heck of a shot...

Agreed. NBA shooting guards tend to be pretty awesome athletes. If you aren't blessed with similar skills, it is going to be hard to be successful playing defense.
