Kind of glad that female abuser has nothing to do with the Orangemen. What the real question is why would this women marry him after getting clocked. I know that some abused women think they deserve their treatment and abuse. Its crazy.

Yea, I never understand how people get married after a big public disaster like this or after physical violence at all. He's the second player with a big black eye, that avoided us (Vick)

"What pisses me"

Love that.

Someone should ensure that woman is safe. Now that Rice has nothing to lose...

I wonder (and worry) if she is out supporting her husband by the end of the week...so he can make a living in the NFL (though he did collect $22 million.)

And I also hope the NFLPA does not support Rice in any way. They've been good on this today, but it would be bad for the NFL, the sport in general and human decency to defend this guy at the moment.

It just isn't a matter of dollars. Fear is the overriding emotion driving everything. There are societal and family pressures as well for the woman to stay in the relationship. Look at how the Ravens treated her. Don't judge her motives.

I agree, but don't they at least have to go through the motions? I have to figure if Anthony Smith feels the way he does, there have to be other players on the same page as he is... Oh Lord

for that...I would shake shady's hand for saving us from the embarrassment Rice caused Rutgirls to receive

I don't care if you are a man or a woman, many people will endure an awful lot for a lifestyle of money and luxury. Especially if you come from a lack thereof.

I am not trying to say that this woman or all women in this situation with an athlete are just cold money hungry mercenaries, in any way. But it's not that hard to understand to me.

Yes, getting punched out by your husband occasionally sucks. But a lot of people come from a life that sucks anyway, except it sucks WITHOUT MONEY.

It's a terrible situation, and I feel bad for her, but I don't find it that hard to understand from her perspective and not willing to blame her for trying to make it work out. Being poor really sucks.

Forget by the end of the week:

If she wants to be safe she should get the hell out of town and away from this jerk.
I guess Jim Brown is ok.
No, Jim Brown is not OK with his abusive actions to women. When yor or iJim's case, when you start believing the adulation the adulation didn't think that his actions could be considered wrong or worse. An over load of testosterone can block out the thinking that needs to used in those moments of anger or frustration. Physical power in family can't and should not be used against women and or children. We all know that this happens and when it crosses the line from cicil to felony. Jim was fortunate not to be charged with assault. AS far as what pisses me. I should gave gone with PO'!

She'll be dead within a year
