Owensboro running back Evan Hampton scored four touchdowns, and the Red Devils raced out to an early lead and never looked back in a 42-7 rout of visiting Class 5-A district foe Graves County on Friday at Rash Stadium.
Hampton rushed 15 times for 149 yards and a quartet of scores, including three in the first half that helped OHS (2-3) seize a 28-0 lead by halftime.
“I thought tonight was really good to get back on track, especially coming out with a 42-7 win,” said Hampton, a bruising junior who helped OHS bounce back after last week’s loss to Owensboro Catholic. “We have to continue. We’re going to get back in here Sunday and just keep working to be the best version of ourselves.”
