She has suffered with depression. It is not a joke. And I understand that. However, she is a public figure making more money than 99% of the world will ever see. I sympathize with her depression, but at the same time, it is part of the job.

For the record, Osaka made $55 million last year. I understand money does not buy happiness, but if she really isn't wanting to do this or is suffering due to the media, then I think she needs to take the time she needs to get well. She has the means. She is not poor. She can take a day off. She can take multiple days off. She could retire right now. Nobody is forcing her play. I don't think these tournaments did anything wrong and shouldn't change their policies due to this.
