Anxiety is real and its debilitating. I have a family member who is musically gifted but refused to perform publicly because of severe anxiety. So severe that she would get physically sick. Long story short she got help and today is able to perform publicly and she truly enjoys it. Any fear, be it heights, claustrophobia or public speaking may seem trivial to others but to the the person who suffers from them they are truly a nightmare.
