Re AJ Long's size - last week I wrote

Johnny Manziel was 5' 11" (some claim 5' 11.5") and approx. 180 lbs as a true frosh at T A&M. When he entered the NFL Combine he was 5' 11.75" and 207 lbs.

When asked about Manziel's height and weight while still at A&M (I.e., is he too small?, etc.) someone offered, "He's just big enough to carry the Heisman."

However, if I have a choice, I prefer a very large dog with huge "fight" in 'em.

AJ proved that he is indeed "big enough" to make really good things happen. I do worry about him taking a vicious hit head-on (will he get up/survive?) but I worry about that w/ any of our QBs so wth.

I can't wait to watch him/the team next game. Go Orange!

AJ's quickness, technique and savvy allowed him to avoid any big hits yesterday.

He plays like Russell Wilson.

It was fun to watch.

It was amazing to actually see how confident he looked out there, from his 1st drive. Normally I would be a nervous wreck just waiting for something bad to happen and that never happened. Even the INT's he had I didn't flip out like I normally would because he was doing so many good things. He looked like he belonged out there and looked like he was our QB moving forward. Haven't felt this confident in a QB in awhile, minus Nassib his last year but we kind knew what we were going to get his last year, to some degree.

It's easy to get caught up in measurables and worry about AJ, but yesterday quelled some of those fears. I held my breath when he kept the zone read and went for 15 off tackle. Hopefully he's got that wiggle that keeps people from being able to lay big shots on him. I watched A&M last night and I'm hoping AJ can get to Kenny Hill's weight (200 pounds at 6'1) and maintain his quickness. Excited for 4 years of him and hopefully Edouard competing.
