Re: Schiano -- Quite the headline

Wow. Harsh. But true. Wonderful day for us. Rutgers goes backward; we step forward.

"To borrow a phrase: There's a mistake, then a joke, then six feet of sludge, then below all of that is this hire."

Wow! And I thoght I didn't like Schiano. I really don't get this. Schiano is half rah rah half snake oil saleman. Neither of those traits go over in an NFL locker room.

2 ways to look at it..

1) If I am Tampa I would rather roll the dice on Schiano than give Marty Schotteniemr or Mike Sherman another chance to fail as head coaches.

2) Schiano took the money and ran but he will get destroyed in that division. Saints and Falcons are 2 mega-powers right now in the NFL. Carolina with Newton is on the rise and fast. Schiano is destined for 4th place in that division his entire NFL career. Which might only be 2 years honestly, but he will get that $15-16 mill so for him if he can bite his lip and accept lots of losing, so be it.

First line: This is nothing personal against Greg Schiano, so please don't take it this way, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers making him their head coach is one of the worst coaching moves of the past 10 years, if not longer.

I love it when people throw around the 'it's nothing personal line'. How could Schiano not take that personally? (not that I really care about his feelings...)
So far, it looks like two people are in favor of this move - Ray Rice and Malcolm Glazer.
