pretty clear that the cover Liberty was using was confusing both the QB and the WRS. As coach said you have to be patient vs that scheme and that also means some of the top down reads are reversed and with no practice or film both the QBs and the WRs were not always on the same page.
now with some film of that cover scheme they will be much better at it next time the see it.
When you make late reads as a QB you dont throw on time, then when you rush it, the accuracy goes away.
his throws when he threw on time were solid. the ones he had some time and threw late were wild.
He would like both the Picks back.. the first one he just threw short, if its outside shoulder its a TD.. the 2nd he knows he shouldnt have thrown at all..
The same thing happened to the oline.. many of the runs got blown up because we handed off guys to no-one and guys came free. Again with film and some reps that gets better and when you have so many new pieces thats to be expected. We didnt get over powered we got confused.
We need to run it better next week, we never really forced Liberty to adjust out of the cover scheme, But I also doubt Maryland plays that same cover scheme with only a few days to prep it unless they worked on it all offseason like Liberty did.
