But right now, we can't run a 5 on 5 practice. No, walk ons don't count. Obviously we're nowhere close to being done with the portal, but mostly we've talked about hoping to attract the big fish, starter kinds of guys.

We need some role players too. Some little fish. Some guys that maybe don't see minutes but make the team better by elevating competition during practices.

Really curious to see who we target and get involved in from this point. We need a lot of college aged male bodies.

It is a lot. This is what happens when a team stinks, has a bunch of players who have soured on the program, and has a staff that needs to run players off to overhaul the roster.

Needing role/bench guys is why I was hoping we would keep Petar and Cuffe. Things got more challenging without those two. I really hope our NIL budget is big enough for a full, competent roster.

I think we’ll get another two starters, Lampkin or better type transfer players. If we’re lucky, three.

Then we’ll get 3-4 of the Davis, Lucas Taylor, Carlos tier. Guys we expect to be ok if they have to play, but who we mostly want being the 8,9,10th or lower in the rotation.

Maybe another very late Majstorovic type high school age recruit for deep depth/development to fill out the roster. I think it’s unlikely we go past 13 scholarships.

It’s possible that White and Anthony are expected to be in the rotation and they won’t bring in that third transfer starter, or that Kyle is that transfer starter.

I, like most everybody, would like a top transfer at Center, Forward and Point Guard. If we get that, our freshman and Kyle can be our depth and I’ll be pleased.

Agreed. And starting caliber players are going to cost lots of $$$.

It is both an interesting but unfavorable position to be in. The good news is that we have increased NIL funds to spend. The bad news is that with 10 players exiting, we have to spend on LOTS of replacements, which means our increased funds get watered down.

North Carolina got a one seed a bunch of years back with 6 players averaging 32+ minutes and their 7th highest minutes getting single digits. Risky risky, but if your top of the roster talent is good enough…
