I've come around on the TO, I was furious at the time but better to call it late than give up the easy completion.  And IB's right, defense is a joke in all of college football.  We make some stops and forces turnovers, that's the best you can hope for.  Giving up 24 points in regulation should be enough to win 75% of games these days.  As usual SU fans blame the wrong side of the ball.

My one point of disdain is not going for it on 4th and 1 late.  When you have a dicey O and confidence in your D that is exactly the spot when you go for it.  You'll never have your O in a more advantageous situation, and the D still had 60 yards to defend against the TD of you don't make it.  SS works off the NFL Conventional Wisdom Playbook from 1972.
