What a tremendous performance from our Orange.

USC was bigger, faster and stronger, yet there we were right in the game as we started the 4th quarter. Lots of teams (and lots of SU teams) would have quit down 21-3, but those kids gutted it out. I'm sure they're disappointed, but they should be proud.

This team should tear through the Big East.

Proudest I've been of an SU football team in a looooong time. That was fun to watch even though the outcome was never truly in doubt. I wish our HC wouldn't be so conservative on 4th downs. Punting at midfield down 28-16 in the 4th was the nail in the coffin. What do you have to lose?!?!

Great effort by the Orange - I'd give them an A-, but DM gets a C-, with a "need more stones" comment.

Preseason is over boys. Time to put a whipping on a Stonybrook team to establish a win for the program and then the real objective. To give the Big East a giant kiss off with a Big East title. NO REASON at all this team can't win this league with what I saw today.

I'm with the Tristans and others who hate moral victories but i recall alot of people angling for entertaining football during the nadir of this program. Well you got the entertainment back. Now the wins need to come. This ship was SUNK for years. It doesn't resurrect instantaneously. We have a GIANT window now to start dominating in recruiting again with Penn St down, BC run by Weekend at Bernies and Rutgers/UConn stuck in a borderline conf.

Marrone is the right coach for this program. Those kids put it out there for him and he's recruiting size and speed again.
