Despite today's outcome, I was pleasantly surprised by the play of our receivers. You could certainly make the argument that we were playing without our two best receivers [Lemon / Stevens]. And yet, several guys came forward today that give me hope that the offense will only get better when the aforementioned duo plus Pugh return.

I have a feeling that today was Kobena's coming out party. Sales had a good game. Clark--given that he wasn't even on the roster until June--looked like a decent rotation guy. Broyld made some things happen. And both of the RBs made catches, too.

Weapons are starting to improve.

Yes, there were drops. But I was pleasantly surprised how well we caught the ball. Every team drops balls. I was convinced Kobena was going to drop that bomb, I must be preconditioned.

Lol, me too on the Kobena catch. I don't think the WRs dropped too many passes today.

Clark is an interesting addition - he can fly and seems to have a knack of getting open. Hope he is durable.

I was very worried about next year without Sales and Lemon, but yesterday made me feel a little better. West looks like a pretty decent possession receiver. Clark and Kobena have nice speed and hands appear to be ok. Add Funderburk, Lewis, Cornelius and Foster and Cuse should have some decent options for the next quarterback. I have to believe that if offense keeps that style from yesterday it will attract talented WRs in the future. The offense will have Broyld and Thomspon as play makers also. Season just started and I am not looking past this year, but it is nice to feel that when team enters the ACC it might not be completely over matched at the skill positions. At this point have to hope beat SB, Minn, and win four games against BE and go to a bowl for the second time in three years. Go Cuse.
