I am sorry for being presumptuous, but with his last name, he could be Hispanic, Bi, or Multi-racial.  PA is loaded with quality liberal arts colleges, many of which are not very diverse, and this could be another hook.  Schools like Dickinson, Gettysburg, &M, the aforementioned Ursinus and Muhlenberg, and Juniata, are excellent schools, none of which are more than a 3 hour drive away.  Then schools like Susquehanna, Lebanon Valley, Lycoming, Moravian, and Desales are all respectable academically, quite close, and would probably dole out lots of aid to a minority student with good grades.

I have some experience in this realm as i ultimately played a sport in college at a lac in Pennsylvania, and the school loved having Mrs. Shrmdougluvr, who is biracial, since it was severely lacking in diversity.

Most of this would apply to the FCS schools in PA as well, such as Lafayette, Lehigh, and Bucknell, but probably a little less so (their larger reps tend to attract more minority students).
