Someone made an interesting post a short time ago about recruiting vs the orange, and how many of the issues that other programs would cite as weaknesses are no longer valid. I know winning solves most issues, including the recruitment of QB's, but I was wondering if the system Dino runs can be recruited against as not preparing a talented young QB for the next level (at least at this point, and notwithstanding J. Garropolo's relative success).

This is Babers chance to showcase his Qb
At the P 5 level . ED was not a conventional Qb he was unique . TD will be a good example to young QBs looking to throw in the Dome in the near future . Seeing is believing

There is nothing conventional about ED. Nor for that matter Babers.

Having seen your son live against FSU and the epic TV win against NC, I am rooting big time for TD.

But like any starting WB, he will face field and this forum adversity. The stakes are higher. Generating wins is ALL that matters. No more look-test results.

Babers has already proved his system works over the past three years at Syracuse. Tommy is a prize recruit. Pressure is on him not Babers. We’ve already seen success via a QB with heart who won exceptionally in this system. The pressure is higher with your son. Rooting for him. But make note, post last season, this forum will be irrational and heated at times. Heads. Up.

Absolutely the pressure is way higher on tommy and it should be ,

I think schools will try to say the system doesn't prepare qb's for an NFL system but ultimately it won't matter. The problem we have now is that even though we've been in Dino's system for 3 years now, we have yet to have a pass oriented qb to run the system and put up eye popping numbers. When that happens, and it will, hopefully this year, we'll see what happens.

Ultimately, I don't think the NFL cares that much about the system. They care about the physical ability and how they project it translating to the NFL. I think winning and putting up crazy numbers can help attract the attention of scouts though. That will translate to our qb's getting an opportunity, and recruits will see that.

How many qb's did Clemson put in the nfl before they landed Watson followed by their extended run of landing top qb's? Clemson doesn't run an NFL style offense.

Winning is the key to everything.

most college systems don't prepare kids for the NFL. These systems are easier for kids to learn that's why they run them. When Tommy is home his qb coach works on all pro drops and reads than gets into the cuse stuff . This is why so many running qb's are not accurate , they have poor feet which translates into poor throwing motions . Our system is designed to put up big numbers and that will get you noticed and than if you display arm talent and footwork you are a big NFL prospect. Numbers got Jimmy G noticed first.

even with a simpler system to run there are still reads to be made.. ED missed a ton of reads his first few years, but got better and even so still often took the easier throw instead of the better read.

if you listen to Dino its clear he wants Tommy to get better and to make some of those throws since they lead to bigger plays if you can make them.

Dungey would also often lock onto a guy (typically Custis) when another WR was WIIIIIDE OPEN.
He missed a ton of easy open opportunities that a QB like Tommy will probably see and complete.

Thanks for confirming my assumptions.
