just using one service to keep it simple 247

But going back the last 4 yrs for the kids who have had the biggest impact

2020 class

Tucker 86
Pena 85
Barron 84
Wax 83
Petry 79

2021
Enrigue 91
Duce 88
Hatcher 87
Gasden 84
Macdonald 83
Bradford 83

2022
Allen 85
Joe Cruz 83
Denaburg 79

2023
Reed 86
Gill NA

2024
Willis 88
Watson 88

Really the 2 highest guys 2 in Cruz and Duce have not played up to the ranking but done well for us

If you ranked this as a recruiting class that will end up with 6-7-8 kids in the NFL it would be a 75th-100th type ranked class

Its shows you just much to take the rankings with a grain of salt. Its not like we havent had kids 87 and up. But none of really lived up to that number
These sites might get many of the top guys right but they are missing on tons of guys as well.

Wow why was Gadsden so low? That’s crazy
If I remember correctly he was under 200 lbs and did not have blazing speed for a WR.
84 means typically multi year starter at p4 and most likely not drafted
He did out before his rating BUT that was a new position and adding about 30-40 lbs. Let's stuff recruiting rankings can not aways predict.

We also had the year we did because we had Kyle McCord who was a 97 out of HS and 91 transfer.

Jackson Meeks was a 87 HS and 87 tramsfer

Most of those guys are also 1-3 points higher if you do the composite ranking which is a combo of all the services, not just 247.

If you have 20-25 a class there are going to be 4-5 outliers or guys who out perform their ranking or just not evaluated correctly. We’ve been 6-6, 7-5, before this season, and again, that was mostly because of McCord. If we don’t have him we win maybe 6-7 regular season games again. That’s a whole lot of average. Obviously, we should know more than anyone, if you don’t have an above average QB, it’s hard to compete even with a plus roster. Then again programs that typically have top 30 classes are those that are usually in and out of the top 25. I respectfully disagree that rankings don’t matter. It’s pretty easy to get the 4 and 5 stars right because they have the measurable’s and other skills where if they are developed properly will be future pro’s or all league. You can’t hope to hit on 3-5 kids a class if you want to consistently be successful, which i would equate to regularly winning 8 games a season at the minimum. If you want to have a chance of cracking the top 25 each season we need to recruit at a much higher level. 2024 was exceptional. Every other year this century have been below average to average. The results speak for themselves.

I think you’re being generous with 6-7 wins without Kyle. We don’t beat GT, UNLV, Miami, VT or NCS without Kyle. We struggled with Ohio and UCONN with Kyle. You don’t win consistent without really good quarterback play.

Agree, and that’s with what looks like 5-6 potential draft picks.
