Recruiting Thought From Darius Kelly Article

One of the themes that comes up regularly with regard to recruiting is the ability of a player's family to see games. With that in mind here is a quote from the Darius kelly PS article:

When that school was Syracuse, a team in the ACC that will play multiple games in and around North Carolina where Biggs now lives, he knew it was perfect. The family geography was ideal: both siblings in North Carolina, all four grandparents in Florida, a cousin that plays for Clemson, relatives that live in Tallahassee.

"The entire extended family is pretty excited about Darius and the opportunity that he has," Terrance Kelly said.

It's as if he was built for the ACC.

No one more so than Biggs, the person who repeatedly told Kelly that quitting was not the way to leave football after he broke his arm. He cannot wait to see "at least two or three" of his little brother's games in person next season, because Kelly is his inspiration just as he was Kelly's.

I wonder how much we try to identify kids that have this kind of support structure in ACC territory. Has to be helpful when we recruit against other conferences that don't.
