I may have missed it but was interested to see everyone's thoughts on him. Heard in camp he was clearly the number one and thought I had to see it to believe it with visions of USC last year still in my head. On Saturday, I saw it. Particularly the touchdown where Woods got inside of him, still had great position and almost jarred the ball loose. I really don't know if he could have been better covered. Really happy/surprised regarding the player he has become.

Love Reddish and have said it several times that I think he will be our best DB since Abrams. But I was disappointed in how soft he played that one pass where he gave the WR a 10 yard cushion.

Agree with that. It was a TE he was covering also. But, apart from that play thought he was terrific.

Really wish we would have redshirted last year. Kid still needs to add strength. I think he has a huge upside. Right now though I still believe Lyn is our best corner and has the best shot at making it in the NFL.

Lyn does not have a better shot than Reddish. Not really even close.

Agreed, don't know what people's love affair with Lyn is, he is good, but is also the 3rd corner

I thought Reddish played a great game. Obviously he had some trouble with Woods and Lee, but Anderson is the one USC picked on all day long. Reddish held his own.

still if the throws were a ft more off Anderson probably stops two td's

Is that his call or the coach's? Guessing it was the coach?

That wasn't a WR... that was a TE which is even worse.

This. It's telling that Barkley went for the weakest link all day long: Rishard Anderson. I think 5 of 6 TDs were thrown towards #9. Don't even remember him turning his head to look for the ball on most of them

Didn't seem that USC went to his side of the field very often.

R'shard Anderson seemed to be the target.

True. A couple of those TDs were absolutely, perfectly thrown passes. Very few college QBs can make those throws on a consistent basis.

True. But if Anderson had simply turned his head or even just thrown an arm into the air he'd have stopped two touchdowns. That was one of the more frustrating things on Saturday - visions of nearly every 5'8" defensive back who's been inept with the ball in the air for the past decade-plus.

Reddish is terrific (defensively...losing contain against Northwestern's punt returner wasn't so great). He's got tremendous reaction time and is a sure tackler. Don't know why he gave SC's tight end 12 yards on that third down play. If he'd played about eight yards closer, either a.) Barkley would've looked elsewhere, or b.) Reddish would've jumped the passing lane and been heading down the sideline to give us the lead.

The call looked like zone, and the TE wasn't his assignment. I think that was a play calling issue.

Gotcha. Odd call in that situation (easy to say that on Monday morning, of course).

The only issue I had with the corners all game was the one cushion reddish gave the TE. But that appeared to by design.

I thought both Anderson and Reddish played well.

Their rub support on the quick screens was decent, still our lb ers to get to the flat quicker in pursuit.

Anderson was in position, but never had his head turned or was looking for the ball.

Reddish looked great. Anderson was in position against NFL receivers, and a possible Heisman QB placed those balls perfectly. I hope Anderson learns something from the experience.

The cushion on the TE was surprising, but what bothered me was the lack of tackling on that play. The help came, but it came in a sort of mindless fashion which allowed the TE to slip away to the outside and waltz into the end zone.

Anderson led the team with nine tackles. You never want a corner to lead your team with nine tackles.

Agreed, Lyns our best corner and best shot at the NFL. Great size and showed his ability to make an open field tackle in the 3rd qtr. Rarely do you see Keon get beat. Its baffling that Anderson plays as much as he does (though I think hes serviceable).

For the record, I really like Reddish too but Keon, with his size, is the better NFL prospect.

I don't see it. I never see Lyn doing that much against the pass, he always gives his receivers a buffer.

I think he's still feeling the wrath of the board for last year's end of year temper tantrum. If Reddish had made the open field tackle Lyn made in the USC game, the board would be drooling. Listen, i think we are very fortunate to have a couple of really good corners. I love Reddish and Lyn (and Anderson is pretty good too).

I will say that none of our corners have shown the penchant to make big, game-changing plays to this point. Coverage has generally very good, but I'm looking for someone to step up and make big, momentum changing plays within the next couple of weeks (i.e an occassional INT would be nice).

I think our corners are going to look a helluva lot better over the course of the next 5 games.
