We've talked endlessly about our national relevance and everything that comes with it. Recruiting, donors, fans, attendance, etc. our Athletic Director threw it out there last week how going into MetLife against ND being 3-0 was an opportunity. Well we're not 3-0, but, that's not my point. Seeing big time marketing for the game on ESPN and ABC, that's relevance. Primetime slot for the game on a premier Network, that's relevance. Winning the game, that's relevance. Would this game be in the same slot on the same channel in the Carrier Dome? I'd like to think so, but, I don't know. Games like Saturday night are a tremendous opportunity against a marquee opponent. These are the opportunities that build our program. Showing up will get Syracuse spoken about by commentators on a National level/platform. I'm sick of listening to local media and people talk about 41-14 losses and the like. It's a football game. Both teams have players 18-23 who suit up the same way. That being said, how those players are viewed for the next 3 months will hinge a lot upon Saturday night, for the next couple weeks anyway. We've got a team that can compete. Analyze position by position all you want, but, Syracuse football is what it is and has what it has right now. At the very least it's a team that's capable of competing, and that's all that matters. We're going into a primetime game with a chance to compete... Give me some more baby! And I have a sneaking suspicion we won't be disappointed. LGO!
