A few years ago, I had #2 seed Iowa State going to the Final Four; they lost to #15 Hampton in the first round. This year, I had #3 Iowa State going to the Elite 8; they lost to #14 UAB in the first round.

Fred Hoiberg... what did I ever do to you?

Time flies, cto...the Hampton upset was more than a few years ago...2001.

Yeah, that was one of the teams I decided to root for throughout the tourney.

That lasted all of 2 hours. Of the first games of the day. On the first day.

Nicely done, 'Clones.

When you've seen as many NCAA tournaments as I have (in other words, when you're as old as I am), 2001 was a few years ago. It is as clear in my mind as yesterday.

I remember it well too, especially Hampton's diminutive coach running around and kicking his legs up while jumping high and celebrating with one of his players.

SU transfer Lesean Howard was on that team!

Man, bracket busted before I even got started. Seriously basketball gods you are messing with me too much this year.

Had Iowa State losing to UVA in the Final Four.

Like CTO I had them going to the final four with Marcus Fizer in 2001 as well.

Baylor year in and year out is horribly coached.

Would you say the same about Fran McCaffery? I think Drew has done a pretty decent job. Of course, there will be responses about how he cheats supposedly.

I also had them going to the Final Four. My bracket is such a mess it isn't funny. The thing is some of the upsets I picked came really close (Wofford for ex), and like many others I did not have Georgia St.. I also went a couple of rounds with the Stephen Austin pick. I think I listened too much to the "experts" this year instead of going with my own gut.

I had them in the FF in my Kentucky bracket, a bracket I despise. They go out in the Sweet 16 in my Wisconsin bracket, so I'm not nearly so damaged in that one. In fact, I'm in second place.

I had so many things I had to do yesterday, including a root canal, and at night we went to see "Chicago." NEVER go to that! I resent the hours I wasted on that musical. All I wanted to do was watch basketball.

Chicago is great - if you see the right production. I guess you didn't. :(

Agree, Orange79. It's one of my favorite shows of all time. Not so much the movie... but the original cast of the 1996 Broadway revival with Bebe Neuwirth, Anna Reinking, Jim Naughton and Joel Gray .. is definitely one of the best shows ever.

They were pretty darn good when they had the likes of Dan Gable wrestling for them .. yeah it was a while ago I suppose ..

i saw that revival, kind of jump-started my broadway viewing career.

i was floored that Lilith Crane was so talented, i didnt know any better at the time.

i like spotting 'broadway' people on tv & film...usually in a supporting role, but when they are on screen, its usually the best acted part.

This thread is one of the things I love about this board. A thread about the NCAA tournament and a totally unrelated (to SU) team ends up discussing Broadway and Cheers actresses. :)
