What is surprising is the precipitous fall from grace these to guys managed to pull off after showing so much promise. IMO Joba was too impressed with the attention he got from fans and media when he got on the mound. As for Hughes he never really tried to improve himself by adding quality pitches to his resume.Ahard slider never showe up and his change up was never effective .Batters set up on his fast ball which he threw to the wheelhouse of the opposition far too often.Nether has any value in Yankee history except as a lesson to young upcoming highly rated pitchers. Good riddance to both. I just hope we get some value for their names.
