Question. Can attendance money be used for revenue sharing? SU lacrosse gets the biggest crowds in the county. Could they use the attendance money to assist both the men’s and women’s teams? Maybe a small increase in ticket prices $2 per ticket.

I thought that would be the case, but many have said that even with the crowds we get they lose money.

They at the maximum allowable rev. Share as a University… those dollars certainly help the school afford to do that, but they can’t go over the $20.5M (next year is 21 Mill I think). And that’s the maximum a school can give in revenue share. Third party (non-university revenue) is the only where any dollar above the revenue allotment share can come from.

it can be used to help offset su on the 20m. so yes they can do that. tennessee does it by adding a 10% fee onto tix.

The ticket prices are already pretty high and in all reality, knowing how accounting is done at SU, that extra $2 wouldn't go to lacrosse rev share. Best case it would go to football rev share, and worst case it would go back in the university general fund (ie bloated adminstration salaries). Lacrosse doesn't receive much of the rev share money, ive been told way less than 5% of the $20M.

Not to mention the fact that the athletic department has to pay the facilities department to use the dome on game day and practices. So the ticket fee covers that cost too. All the little silos need to be fed...

Wonder how much Gait lacrosse is providing in nil? Could be a great revenue source for women’s team. Not sure how would work with men’s team with Gary as the coach.
