After the Bryant game I wasn’t particularly high on the team because I saw a defense that wasn’t good.

We have shooting and offense which is half of the equation but the defense was brutal.

The last 30 minutes last night was Syracuse zone defense that won NCAAT games.

Richmond’s athleticism mixed with one of Buddy/Girsrd’s shooting abilities gives us a competitive backcourt.

Buddy/Girard together aren’t a sustainable backcourt unless you have a Rudy Gobert type of big who can protect the rim.

Richmond ups the potential of this team so much. He is going to have terrible offensive games but if you combine his defense with Buddy or Girard shooting we should have enough offense.

We have the pieces with Richmond getting the most minutes in the backcourt to be an all around team.

I tried to tell you that you were gonna be impressed with this kid once he got some experience and got going. I knew JB wasn’t gonna keep him on the bench. JB knows what he’s got in Kadary. The kid is gonna have a big impact on this team as the season progresses and might even help us finish in the top 4-6 of the conference. But we have to get Sidibe back by early January and we have to avoid Covid shutdowns. Here’s hoping!

I like Richmond in the sixth man role. Him and AG provide competent options and energy off the bench for advantageous second lineups.

JG/Buddy/Marek/Q/Boo

Each receiving considerable minutes:

AG
KR

Additional Options:
FA
WN

If needed:
JE
RB
JBA

If he doesn't hit a wall or forget everything he is good at all the sudden and is the player we saw vs Niagara all season, he also gives us something nobody else in the ACC really has besides maybe the Ville in David Johnson and maybe Love at UNC. That is a huge weapon to have.

I like a Buddy/Kadary backcourt and I think that’s who should play the most, but I do think Joe will figure it out and have good games. I also don’t think JB will even put Girard on the bench to start games, but I could see him giving Kadary minutes like Lydon got in 2016 when he was basically our 2nd best player.

Good luck with the last line - Buddy is going to get the most minutes.

Its honestly a joke that JB has broken us down into this becoming just accepted.

I am not directing that take at you either. It’s just a joke that we have 3 more years of this.

I want to see a few more games out of Richmond to be sure but it's nice that we seem to have a guard that can drive, run the point, and make good decisions with the ball again.
