Boise state made a run with 3 stars.  SU needs to use their resources intelligently.  We cant afford to be wasteful. Fran is all about building a culture and he has to take that into consideration when we add someone from outside.  We also want to make sure that we can retain the players that we need to.  The reason that the kid left for smu is that we probably felt he wasn't worth the money.  Not that we wouldn't be a better team with him but that we could replace him with similar talent and save that money for other needs.  The powerhouse teams can afford to throw money against the wall.  Syracuse can't.  Still Frans approach is to build from within. Build a team that has depth and can survive attrition through kids out and getting injured.  When we start spreading the 20 million around it will help. There will still be kids that can get that NIL bump but i believe it will absolutely help us.  We are what we are and i like Frans approach.  Short of unlimited NIL it is the only way we can continue to remain competitive.
