We just got a Ring security system package from Amazon last weekend. We live in a pretty safe part of the city of Syracuse, but there have been prowlers checking cars at night, car thefts, etc recently. This system is amazing. Great integration with the app, and professional monitoring for $10/mo. It’s so easy to set up. It took us more time to decide where to put the window/door sensors, to be honest.
Also, they also have a free, “Neighbors” app where you can get “neighborhood watch” alerts about crimes or suspicious events in your neighborhood.
