RIP Don Gullett

I loved the Big Red Machine growing up. Who knows what his Yankee career would've been if he didn't get hurt.

Finishing his career with 3 straight World Series Championships.

What's more impressive, 3 Championships in just a 9 year career or that they came in 3 consecutive seasons??

He had 4 straight World Series Championships (3 with the Reds and the 78 Yankees). I believe he retired in 1978 due to bum shoulder but he was paid through 1982.

Correct you are!!

On September 29 he underwent surgery for a double tear of his rotator cuff. Although unable to play in the 1978 World Series, he was on the Yankees’ roster. Gullett is one of the few men in the history of baseball to be on the roster of four consecutive World Series champions—Cincinnati in 1975 and 1976 and the Yankees in 1977 and 1978.

I thought it was 2 and 2, 75 & 76 with the Reds and 77 & 78 with the Yankees?
