If you created a catcher in a lab, you'd end up with something like Grote. RIP, Jerry.

Really underrated part of that franchise. He was a Rock behind the plate and had the glory of catching some tremendous pitchers during his career.

Great defensive catcher. Called a really good game and excelled at handling young talented pitchers.
