What a great person. I got to know him some over the years. He was always so kind to my parents and our family. RIP Joe...a true Orangeman.

Joe and his wife Shirley were part of the Welcome Wagon in DeWitt when my family moved back to Syracuse in 1976. My parents became good friends with them. I think Joe helped my dad get basketball season tickets. Rest In Peace.

I was just thinking of Joe the other day - wondering how long ago he died, to be honest. Really a good guy. I would read his column in the (monthly? quarterly?) Orange Pack newsletter religiously when I was a kid.

Yup. Their son Rick was my best friend when we were in elementary school. They lived a few houses away from me.

Well, Bart Starr passed fairly recently. I would guess you might be able to count the survivors on one hand.
