Always seemed like a good guy. I grew up watching Purdue at noon, and taking them on parlay cards as a kid.

Certainly had a great run at Purdue.

I think he invented or at least popularized the bubble screen.

He had some pretty good teams. Having Drew Brees under center for a few years helped I imagine.

If you can win at Purdue and get to a Rose Bowl at Purdue ...in that conference you are a good coach.

His style of offense inside a place like the Dome in the late 90's/early 2000's would have been magic Nowadays everyone runs some variation of that offense with the "spread" as that is what it has morphed into really. I think. Always thought of him as a good college coach and sad to see he passed
