Rutgers got a commitment from OL John Stone (2023) who had ZERO offers yet has a 5.7 rating... another example of how biased these rating services are to certain schools.

On top of that he didnt have a rating until today. Right before he made his commitment public.

And now we’ll get to hear from uninformed, ignorant posters about how SUNJ and Schady are killing us in crootin!

While completely ignoring that they have not one but TWO shills cooking the books on their recruiting rankings year after year.

At least now, once these young guys see what a jackwad Schady is IRL, and what a BS bill of goods he sold them, they can transfer out and go -
anywhere else.

The thing is - they juice their recruits rankings and they don’t do any better on the field. I think they think they are helping but it’s impact is negligible.

It does get their fans hopes up only to be dashed year after year.

Cuse is starting to heat up in South Jersey and our coaches were all over NJ the last few weeks. Surprised Greg went so hard after this kid.

Kid may turn out to be great, but he jumped at his first offer. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a few more offers that he may decommit.

Offered 1/30 and commits 2/1.

No other offers, not even lower level (reported).

A buddy of mine and I have a running joke that we ironically call the “Cuse bump” and it literally just happened to the basketball program. Seems like when a kid commits to Syracuse all of the sudden he drops a star or loses composite points

Right. It's merely propaganda, but still ethically questionable and intellectually stupid.

Schools are questioning his size. He's listed at 6'3 270 so he's probably 6'2 260

Make it right !

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? YOU KNOW NUTHIN' 'BOUT FOOTBALL! YOU MUST HAVE THE IQ OF A ROCK. I MEAN, SCHIANO IS KILLING IT! DIDN'T YOU HEAR THAT HARBAUGH IS LOOKING TO GO PRO BECAUSE RUTGERS IS RECRUITING OVER HIM? I MEAN, EVEN THE DIPSTICK KELLY AT ND LEFT BECAUSE SCHIANO IS OUTRECRUITING HIM IN NJ AND HE CAN'T SUCCEED ANYMORE IN NORTHERN INDIANA! I WOULDN'T BE SURPISED IF PEDSTATE DROPS TO DIV III.*

Oh, sorry, 721, I was reading the Kinghtreport before I checked in here and must have bought into the hype over there. They are ecstatic that they pulled in Harris, stating the "trade" for Deuce' pal should have come with a player to be named later. Taj Harris has talent, he also has issues. I am not sure playing on the banks of Roatan will help since they have a weak QB and a worse line. Pretty much the same as Taj had the last two years before he left the team. Obviously, I wish Taj well,** just not sure the jump from the frying pan into the fire was his best option. Besides, I am not sure Shady is really good for anyone.

By their accounts, they are on the upswing, ready to take down the B1G East. Considering they did nothing in the Big East and Shady lead them to their best shot at mediocrity while in the Big East, I am not confident they are on the upswing. But, hey, let them have their inflated recruiting classes, Shady has yet to prove he can beat top dogs, as well as most middle of the pack dogs.

*Honestly, I think you have a much higher IQ than a rock, isn't that what "721" stands for?
**He wore Orange, I thank him for choosing SU.

Spot on. If the kids proves up, he will have offers from all over and will have to rethink his commitment.

On the flip side, the kid could be playing Shady knowing he would get a "bump" from the biased raters as he searches for good offers.

I think Shady is trying to "prove" he has an eye for talent. Historically, Shady has basically only recruited kids with respectable offers. Now, everyone is watching - and I am sure that UM, tOSU, PSU and MSU kindly reminded him that if he played the recruiting game the same way he did when he was an HC in the Big East, they would bury him with Hoffa (figuratively, but they wanted to say it in a manner which Rutgers could understand. Hopefully).

Why would a rating service be biased towards Rutgers?

I was bored yesterday and looked at all those 4-star players the Rutgirls scoped up in this class
Everyone single one has been on a downward slide of starting near the top of 4 stars and almost falling out.
The all-day site is a joke because of Dohns basis, it gets called out all the time and I've honestly stopped even going over to read things most of the time.
