Last night I heard on one of the local NYC broadcasts that this group Road to Recovery feels that JB should be fired because the ball boys are workers in the program and he should know everything that is going on.

First off, I'm getting sick and tired of the media always looking for an organization trying to get 15 minutes of fame by making a statement against someone who is accused of something! Secondly, just because you represent a group that supports sexually abused children, it makes you judge and jury on a situation you only hear and read about?! Correct me if I'm out of line here, but this crap just gets under my skin!

I don't see why they aren't allowed their opinion. You're allowed your opinion, they can have theirs.

Do you h ave any problem with sportswriters saying JB should keep his job? Why should they be judge and jury?

Isn't it just more they don't have the same opinion as you do?

Yes, because a victim's rights group needs to keep their mouths shut in a story like this. Got it.

You do have a point, my only problem is, when the the media reports it, they make a big deal over this one guys opinion, they never give 2 sides.

Maybe this Father Robert Hoatson should clean up his own backyard, The Catholic Church, before he comments on a basketball program. A Catholic priest should be the LAST person making a comment like that.

You are missing my point, I don't care, have every victim's rights group speak up and protest BERNIE FINE and what he did or didn't do. This guy from Road to Recovery is trying to get his 15 minutes by calling out JB and saying he should be fired. He could get the same message out by going after Bernie Fine by himself but he wants to make more of a splash and go after JB too.

He's not a Catholic priest. he's a crack-pot former priest who is pi**ed a the chhruch for not assigning him the the job he wanted in the church.

How did you infer that? SMFH
I deleted the post because the analogy was not proper. I don't think that a Catholic priest is ipso facto precluded from speaking on issues of child abuse mearly because other priests were molesters and some of their church overseers covered the abuse. I thought your post was a cheap shot. There are several priests I know that have gone to great lengths to help and support victims of abuse.

No, I understood your point.
But my point is that this is "manna from heaven" for these guys- a softball being lobbed to the plate...and you seem surprised that they'd be swinging for the fences?
The trophy here is James Arthur Boeheim, NOT sad to say, Bernie Fine. JB's firing would garner the most headlines, & the most attention.
Think Al Sharpton after a police-shooting, or Gloria Allred after an affair allegation. Do you really expect those types to lay back & not look for the spotlight?
My point is this guy & others like him, are what comes next in a story like this. The more attention you give them, they more they want. Call me when someone more legitimate calls for JB's firing, not some discredited ex-priest who's looking for some pub.
Best case is to ignore them, & they'll go away...eventually. :noidea:

Ballboys aren't "workers" of the program. They are almost all family friends of someone, a coach (JB, BF, Hop)... and the kids obviously volunteer, actually I wouldn't even call it volunteering, it's a privilege to "ballboy" which means sit courtside at the dome and mop the floor for 20 seconds every 40 minutes

JB should know everything that's going on with the ballboys? He probably doesn't know most of their names. Should he know where they live, what their most recent report card said too?

Lastly, I've been in the locker room at the dome. Should JB have run a full background check on me? How ca he be expected to know everything that goes on in the program. Married couples of 30 years find out dark secrets all the time.

Not a cheap shot. I'm an Irish Catholic who goes to church regularly and I see people as hypocrites if they try to clean up other peoples problems before they fix their own.

But, from what I've read, this guy is just pretty much a nut job and the media gives him credibility by sticking microphones in his face.

How long until NAMBLA puts out a statement supporting Bernie?

Don't JB's kids act as ballboys now and then? Or they used to?
