[I][B]BALTIMORE –[/B] Rorke Denver showed up early for his 7:30 p.m. keynote address at the US Lacrosse Convention here Friday night, and not by simply a few minutes to watch the preshow on-screen entertainment, either.

"I'm from the military," Denver told lacrosse coaches, officials, players and fans in the Baltimore Convention Center ballroom. "We show up to everything pathologically early."

Denver, a 13-year U.S. Navy SEAL and former All-American defenseman at Syracuse, generated his own buzz during an afternoon walkthrough of the convention that included posing for pictures with stickmaking legend Alf Jacques and tweeting a countdown until he was to take the stage to welcome and inspire attendees of the premier educational, networking and trade-show event in the lacrosse world.
