No room for Battle who still has to decide what he wants to do so SU's "obligation" to him is vastly reduced.  Now mostly everybody assumes that McCullough will leave after next season but there is no guarantee of that as how well he will bounce back from his injury is an unknown.  That confounds the roster # issue.  If some of the people here are right and SU still could accept Thomas for next year, then that once again puts pressure on the roster numbers by the end of the 2015-16 season.  To get to the 10 scholarship limit going into the 2016-17 season, kids were either going have to leave early or people were going to lose their scholarships.  What this points out is the that NCAA sanctions not just hurt the university and/or JB but also hurts the players.

I thought there was a rule that allowed kids to transfer without having to sit out a year if the school got sanctioned.  Why does this not apply to the SU kids?  BJ dad suggests that BJ will benefit the year off to get bigger and stronger (probably regrets not doing it his freshman year) but Ron will now be a 25 year old senior by the time he finishes his eligibility.
