Cinci loses at home to SJU
G'town loses to Marquette
Pitt loses to Rutgers

Only Notre Dame avoided upset

Couldn't happen to a better three teams!

Big East sucks this year. Most of the teams are bad offensively. Us, Louisville, and ND are only teams that have a shot at Sweet 16 or beyond this year, imho

Cheers,
Neil

I'm trying to figure out if this means that the Big East is not as strong as in past years or if it means that the Big East is much deeper than in past years.

Not nearly as strong as past years.

The Big East is down by Big East standards and it is still the second best conference in the country. This thing is wide open this year, there are no great teams.

Let's not forget that the #1 ranked Yukon women's squad lost today also.

Right, so should any of us be surprised if three BE teams make the Elite Eight or the Final Four. This is why I really like our chances but we really need to exorcise all of our demons.

plain fact. the BE conference the greatest BBall conference of the last 20+ years was just blown up for football mediocrity.

how would you gauge the best conference of the past 20 years? % of teams to make tourney? % of teams to make FF? Weight tournament teams by seeds, so that a top seed is worth more than a, say 12 seed?

BE is downnnnnnnn. College bball is downnnnn. That crappy Gtown team that everyone knows can't score was 15th going into today. There are about 10-12 good teams but most of the rest blow this year IMO.

yep. when the supposed #3 team in the country needs the refs' help to beat Colarado at home and then needs last-second free throws to beat Utah at home — says alot about the overall state of college hoops this year

The Big East is down but it still might be the best conference in the country, let's see what all these "great" Big 10 teams do come March.
