Alive and well! Its been a crazy few days. Shocked like everyone about Schiano leaving for the NFL. Everything happened so quickly. Not happy about the timing obviously but can't blame coach for accepting one of about 30 NFL head coaching jobs in the country(guess a few people here were dead wrong about no one wanting him). Would have been worse if he left for another college job but I understand taking over the Bucs. Glad he did the honorable thing and didn't wait until after signing day to announce he is leaving. It would have been better for Rutgers but if a recruit wants to leave now they can. I thought our recruting class would take a larger hit(like 50%) but as a few days have passed it seems like the majority of them will still be coming to Rutgers. It would help if we have our new coach in place before signing day(very likely). I am hearing Pernetti wants the new coach to retain some of our assistants which will likely rule out Addazio who will want to bring a whole new staff. Thinking Cristobal or Flood at the moment... Wish we could have held on to Schiano longer as it seemed everything was in place to be successful. That said he will leave Rutgers in a much better position then when he arrived. The team is talented, the facilities are in place, and he will be handing someone a very good recruiting class(even if we lose a few).
