CSNbbs.com thread, initial rumor came from Clemson board. Personally I think the ACC could negotiate for 3 games a year. Have Cuse, BC (Will Newton NIMBY's allow it?), and MD usually host a game. But occasionally rotate a Friday game throughout the league.

Friday is becoming the new Thusday...plus the NFL is going heavier on Thursday. Friday also allows teams to play the week before and after.

The Self-Important HS coaches will have to get over it.

NFL going to Thursday will hurt CFB on Thursday. Especially if ESPN has the NFL TV rights. In addition I don't think the colleges really like Thursday games because of classes. So I do think Friday will be the new CFB day. IMO it is so much better for attending games anyway. Just lose one day of work vs two with Thursday. Also it opens up your whole Saturday to watch games. So I see the ACC/SEC going to Friday. The BE and CUSA/MWC will go to Thursday. Which is a swap of the way it has been the last few years.

The NFL Network has NFL rights on Thursday nights.

Those of us who don't get the NFLN on cable will still need to be entertained.

i believe the NFL Network will carry the Thursday Night Games, so espn will still have college on. this is another attempt for the NFLN to get on every cable system, they will.

you are right though, the big boys wont play against NFL

I think they are bringing them up for bidding. If not this year, then I thought it was coming soon.

Friday night works up north but no way does that fly down south.

ESPN is smart they are priming the Friday Night Pump...if they eventually get NFL Thursday rights it will be much easier for them to seemlessly transition. I assume initially they'll play ACC/nBE/B12/1 or 2 midmajors on Friday night starting in 2013. The SEC/Big10 will stay on Saturday.

nbe doesnt deserve to be on tv, period.

As much as we make fun of it...playing a couple games involving Boise, Houston, SMU with exciting offenses makes good TV. But I agree like all things the nBE will be pushed down the priority list...they will learn to love Tuesday and Wednesday and Saturday at 11am

They can play the NBE Game of the Week on Friday nights too - live from the Blue Turf, San Diego/San Jose (whichever one they added), or the next west coast Big East team - joined in progress after the primetime ACC game.

The Girls versus Univ. of Northern British Columbia at 1am EST on a Wed. night should bring the house down.

I see a top three in cable ratings for the time slot - trailing only Seinfeld reruns and Brazil Butt Lift infomercials .

Friday night is high school game night in the south and west...and its a big deal. Don't know if the ACC and SEC want to step on that.

I don't get the HS FB argument. If they don't want to compete with an instate CFB game on Friday, then move your HS games to Saturday. Big deal. It isn't every week but one week a friggin year.

If I am the ACC I only agree if ESPN gives the ACC Friday to itself. Like Sunday night hoops have ACC Friday FB.

Good idea from a NY perspective but that will never fly down South...at best the ACC ponies up and suports 3-4 Fridays a season.

The South needs to get over it seriously. It is ed. Moving one HS FB game a year to Saturday shouldn't be a big deal. It is so dumb.

dont they have ipads in the flukin south??

go to the HS game, watch espn on the ipad.

done.

youre home for the 2nd half of the college game anywho.

Oh Lord
