http://cuse.com/news/2016/1/20/FH_0120162538.aspx Syracuse freshman back Zoe Wilson notched her first international goal in the 56th minute of Ireland's 3-2 comeback win over Spain to highlight her first international series with the Irish national team. Wilson, who appeared in every game on the weekend, was joined by senior teammate Emma Russell in making their debuts with the 'Green Army' in a four-game series with Spain in Valencia. Spain took the series 3-1, but Wilson's goal capped off a three-goal second half comeback in the lone Irish victory. Wilson has already proven she has a knack for scoring her first goal in big moments after her first collegiate goal came as the game winner in the NCAA Championship game. Russell, who's final assist in the NCAA title game allowed her to leave Syracuse as the program's all-time points leader, captained the Orange to the first national championship in program history this season and earned NFHCA First Team All-America honors, as well as Second Team All-ACC accolades. Former Orange standout Gillian Pinder, who played one year at Syracuse, is also on the Irish National Team. Russell and Wilson's experience with Ireland is the latest in a string of current Orange to play at the international level. Senior midfielder Alyssa Manley, who won the Honda Award this season, is currently on the U.S. National Team, while fellow senior Jess Jecko also spent time training with the U.S. squad this month. In addition, sophomore standout Laura Hurff is a member of the U.S. U21 team set to go to Trinidad and Tobego this summer for competition.
