As for the  "Most Improved Player" award, that is the oldest left-handed compliment in the book.  If I was ever given one of those trophies I would have cried like a baby.

If you are still touting this idea that Williams was made #1 on the depth chart then you clearly did not read the post that you are replying to.  To recap his ascension into the starting lineup...

1.  Joe Martinek, was 1st string in 2010, is moved to FB
2.  Jordan Thomas, was 2nd string in 2010, is moved to DB
3.  Jeremy Deering who was splitting time with the one's in the spring, gets concussion and misses all of summer camp.
4.  Jawan Jamison who was splitting time with the one's in the spring, pulls a hammy and misses almost all of summer camp.
5.  True Freshman Savon Huggins outgains and outperforms Williams, by any objective measure,  in two summer scrimmages (against the 1's) but is still only a true freshman.
6.  Williams comes out of camp as the only healthy body outside of Huggins.  He was finally a good soldier in the spring (and I'll leave it at that) and he was awarded with the chance to start.

You make it sound like Williams came in like Ray Rice and unseated an incumbent All Big East performer (Brian Leonard) on Day 1.
