In order to have a "rivalry" both teams have to have experienced success at the same time.  For Syracuse, we have had success off and on for 125 years.  At no point in time, when we were successful, was Buttgers having success.  They have been a boil on the A%$ of college football for 125 years.  The only limited success they have had has been in the last 7-8 years, which has arguably been (other than the last three) among the worst for Syracuse, ever!  They have had built-in wins through crap scheduling, and have had an extreme shortage of quality out of conference wins during that time.  Yes, they picked up a few wins against Syracuse.  Good for them.  Even in our down years, we still picked up some quality OOC wins, while Buttgers was picking on Bumfolk State.  Way to go Scarlet Nighties!  Way to represent the BE, while taking 20 years of checks.

Simply put.  They are not our rival.  Will never be our rival.  My distaste for all things Rutgers starts with some of the Internet fan base, who think football began 8 years ago, and with their Ex-coach who was (and is) a slimy turd.

I have no interest in SU playing Rutgers.  It doesn't excite me.  It has NEVER excited the SU fanbase, and Rutgers has drawn virtually nothing to the Dome.  Ever.
