How long is the train from Mid Town to Hoboken? Is there a train at Penn St. or do I need to walk elsehwere? If so, where is the stop? Is there a Stevens College specific station in Hoboken? If not, how far from the nearest stop to Stevens?

Thanks.

There's a PATH train just east of Penn Station on 34th St. It doesn't take a long time at all.

stevens isn't a bad walk, maybe 10-15 minutes, but you have to walk from the Hoboken PATH. There's no Stevens specific stop.

The ride from 34th (officially, the 33rd St. station) to HOB is about 12 minutes long. I don't think they take cash anymore, so plan accordingly.

The PATH train is at the corner of 34th and 6th. Just take the Hoboken PATH train (about 10-15 min) and grab a cab right outside the station. You can also walk up to Stevens but its about a 15 min walk.

I just took the PATH home to Hoboken.

The station is at 32nd & 6th in Manhattan.
Easiest to come out of Penn Station and walk a block.

YOU WILL NEED TO BUY A METRO CARD AT ONE OF THE MACHINES.
Cost is $1.75 each way.
THE CARD MUST BE INSERTED IN TURNSTYLE TO ACCESS TRAINS.

The ride to NJ takes about 12 minutes to the PATH Station at Hudson PLACE & River St.
That's the end of the line (unless it's a weekend or overnight and you want to go to Jersey City)

From there...walk one block west to Hudson STREET.
At the corner, the bar Hobson's Choice is on the right hand (north) side.
Green Rock & Scotland Yard will be across the street.
Make a right on Hudson STREET and walk north about 6 blocks (about 12-15 minutes).
Stevens is between 5th & 8th Streets...maybe some properties up to 9th.

Enjoy your time in the "6th Boro of NYC".

All of these people are right, just make sure you're jumping on the HOB Path train and not the one that goes to Journal Square. Above the doors, it should have a lit up "HOB"

Good point!
And I need to make a correction. PATH fare is now up to $2.00 each way.
Fares are going up so fast now I can't keep track.

Thanks all. I am contemplating trying to catch SU/SJU then run to HOB to watch the 2nd half of my son's swim meet against Stevens, which starts at one and will go to about 4-4:30

I don't know if you've been to the Stevens campus, but it's really not easy to find things unless you know exactly where you're going. I wandered around there for a half hour trying to find their tennis courts. Nothing beats D3 tennis on a cold April afternoon.

PATH trains run from around Penn Station and a couple other spots near midtown (23rd and 14th st) as well. The directions to stevens above are good, you should take a right on 7th street and it'll take you to the athletic field adjacent to the gym. You can also get a cab near the path. Make sure to go to a deli (Vito's is on washington and 7th) for a solid example of a Hoboken italian sandwich (basically with big time layers of fresh Mozzarella). Good luck to your son.
