The way I see it: If this team is to get to 6-7 wins we will know in the next two weeks. Let's be honest...Wagner just got upset by Division 2 Merrimack at home http://www.merrimackathletics.com/sports/fball/2013-14/releases/20130906d1qnsx and Tulane lost to South Alabama ( a newbie program like UTSA) at home. We should be able to work on issues (play selection, player packages) against Wagner and still win by 17-21 points. Tulane is having some issues like us but we should be able to win by 10 points. We get to 2-2 and win both games by comfortable margins we have hope. I do fear the Clemson game. I think we can hang with them but thoughts of sold out crowds and an upsets look like a pipe dream now. I know our CNY fanbase and out of the local area alumni base...if we are 2-2 at best we get 43-44k in there. The good TV slots surely vanished after the o-2 start. I don't see anything better than ESPN2 now and that is mostly off the respect Clemson will receive and the novelty of SU's first ACC game. Fortunately for us I see wins with Wagner, Tulane and Wake Forest. BC is still likely. I put NCState and Pitt as too close to call. Maryland looks like we'll be an underdog now. Maybe we can steal another game like GTech. So to sum up I see us right now at 5-7 wins depending on how fast our team/staff gels. I don't think we are as hopeless as we saw in the first half of NW but thoughts of 8-9 wins preseason was a pipe dream. Sadly I drank the kool-aid like I usually do in early August and switched my last spring 6-7 wins prediction to 8 wins for the season prediction contest. Bottomline: Fight and get to 6 wins. Getting to a Tier 3 bowl game somewhere should be our expectation right now. This will still create momentum as long as we don't get blown out GTech 2004 style in the bowl game.
