Buddy playing undeserved minutes was going to hurt team chemistry …...l love Buddy but he's not a 35 mpg player as he's a one trick pony(shooter) who doesn't rebound and lacks defensive quickness. Girad also plays too many minutes but his minutes are more understandable because of his ballhandling and playmaking ability. With the transfer portal in play we need to either get better at identifying high school talent or get better at developing the talent we get.

Spot on. It's actually a credit to these young mens' characters that they didn't show anything publicly during the season. No one would question or argue Hughes' minutes simply because of his clear talent level; but even a zero basketball trained eye like mine could see the minimal talent differential between the rest of the team, imo...
