What a core they have become! Can you imagine what they would be with just a little more speed?

Yikes!

And what would they be like with Funderburke?

They're all in the top 100 in receiving. Has SU ever had 3 top 100 receivers in the same year before?

Or even Kobena. Had a nice breakout against NW, but then the injury came in the USC game. I don't think he's been on the field as a WR since then (I think he was just KO returns the other night). He has the speed.

Losing 2 seniors at a position like WR is never good. But I think we'll be fine there next year with West, Funderburke, Kobena, even Clark who is getting good experience. Beyond that is a list of names with no game production yet in Flemming, Foster, Hale, Cornelius, Lewis. Would be great to see at least one of them step up and contribute. I guess I should include Funderburke in that group, but he's getting bumped up based on the fact that all accounts say he's for real, and the fact that he could have played anywhere. His offer list is as much of a who's who list as you can find.

Think west, kobena and Funderburke will be more dynamic next year and big play potential... Just gotta see who the QB is tho

The top two have got a lot of reps with Nassib over the years, glad to see them all go out together. Hope whoever is running our scout O is developing that sort of consistency with Flemming, Hale, to some extent Lewis and Corny.

I think what's unique about this group is that we'll actually have a couple guys coming back after making some big plays. Lemon's been a stalwart, but Sales was largely potential outside of a five-game stretch at the end of '10. All the young guys like West, Kobena, Fleming, Foster, etc. have potential but hadn't produced a thing coming into this year (west had 16 catches but averaged just 9 ypc last year).

For next year we have West coming off a breakthrough campaign (45+ catches, ~600 yds) and Kobena and Clark at least having gotten a bit of run and actually making some plays -- Kobena just 5 catches, but 20 yards a pop and 2 TDs with a chance to hopefully build on that the next four weeks. Clark with 10 catches, 2 TDs. That's actually decent production given that it would be really difficult for either of those two to break into the top 3 in the rotation.

Add to that the potential for Funderburke to step in at a high level and it's a lot different, IMO, from projecting breakthroughs from guys who've never done a thing. That at least sets a pretty decent bar for the guys like the two frosh from this year and Foster, Flemming, etc.

And it looks like we've offered a Nassau CC WR, so we may get a kid ready to play now as well. Originally from Brooklyn and a good player but had no grades. He's listed in the 6-1 / 6-2 200 lb range and is putting up solid numbers at juco.
